Job Evaluation

The purpose of job evaluation is to provide a systematic way of establishing relativities between jobs within and without organisations. This provides a fair, equitable and defendable basis for decisions around reporting lines, levels of responsibility, position parameters and authorities, internal pay differentials (along with other factors), and the basis for external pay comparisons.

Where organisational structures have changed, a rigorous approach to evaluation is crucial to challenge historical perceptions about relative importance of roles.
